He attended college at the University of Virginia, where he earned a B.S. in Finance. He then worked in the finance industry for two years before attending and graduating law school with honors from the University of South Carolina School of Law. In law school, he was a Member of the Order of the Wig and Robe (recognizing high academic achievement).
