Catherine Stagg is of counsel in the McCarthy Law PLC Lake Charles, LA office. Catherine Stagg was admitted to the practice of law in 1977 and has assisted thousands of families and individuals. Ms. Stagg has worked exclusively in Public Interest law firms and agencies or as a self-employed sole practitioner, representing real people with real problems. She believes the number one lesson many lawyers never learn is to always ask what the client wants. Ms. Stagg will take as much time as needed to fully understand her clients’ needs and how best to assist them.

The vast majority of Ms. Stagg’s representation is in all types of Family and Juvenile law, Criminal Defense, and in Social Security and SSI Disability cases. Ms. Stagg also handles immigration cases, successions, wills and estates. Ms. Stagg is a southwest Louisiana native and graduated from Sulphur High School in Sulphur, Louisiana in 1972. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State University and her juris doctorate from Louisiana State University Law Center in Baton Rouge in 1977. She has operated her own law firm, Catherine L. Stagg, Attorney at Law, L.L.C., in Lake Charles since 2006.
She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys (LACDL) and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts of Louisiana.
