Costa Mesa Debt Settlement Attorney: James Liu
James Liu is Lead Attorney in the McCarthy Law PLC Costa Mesa office and a member of the California Bar. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. James received his Juris Doctor Degree from Chapman University School of Law. While at Chapman, James received the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for earning the highest grade in Bankruptcy and Legal Writing Skills.
Before embarking on his legal career, James was the founder and president of two successful online startups. James also practiced as a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
Prior to joining McCarthy Law PLC, James served two terms as a judicial extern to the Honorable Erithe A. Smith of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, where he gained a wealth of experience in the laws governing debtors and creditors. James also served as a legal extern for the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals for the United States Department of Health and Human Services, where he drafted briefs with recommended resolutions for Medicare appeals cases. In addition, James served as a Volunteer Attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Orange County, California. Because of these experiences, James understands how unforeseen hardships can lead to debt.
James loves practicing law at McCarthy Law PLC because he truly enjoys helping people get back on their financial feet. At McCarthy Law PLC, James works tirelessly to help clients shed excess debt and achieve financial stability. When James is not working, he enjoys fishing, spending time with his bulldog named Oski, and cheering on his beloved California Golden Bears football team.
