Shawn D. Bartley, ESQ. Shawn D. Bartley, Esq. is a licensed practicing attorney in the state of Maryland. He is admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for Maryland. Mr. Bartley is the founder and principal partner of Shawn D. Bartley and Associates, LLC law firm located in Silver Spring, Maryland. He has successfully represented clients in matters related to consumer debt, family law, bankruptcy, estates, real estate, and business/ corporate law. In 2011 the largest legal services plan company recognized him as their #1 Corporate Referral Attorney in all of North America. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and is a past fellow of the association’s Leadership Academy in 2005.
He is a graduate of the Valparaiso University School of Law in Valparaiso, Indiana, and a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, where he was a scholar athlete. While in law school Mr. Bartley was active in numerous scholarly activities that included Moot Court, Mock Trial, Negotiation Team, and the Student Bar Association. As an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, Mr. Bartley was an original volunteer of President Bill Clinton’s federal initiative Summer of Service in 1993 working with the Maryland Student Service Alliance.
Mr. Bartley is a family man. Mr. Bartley is a married to a school teacher and they are proud parents of two young children
Mr. Bartley is an experienced and skilled board member. Mr. Bartley is the past Chairman of the Montgomery Collaboration Council for Children Youth and Families Board having served from 2010 until 2012.
Mr. Bartley is adept at public speaking and interpersonal communication. Mr. Bartley became a Certified Toastmaster in 2007 with Toastmasters International, Inc. He is also a member of the Grand Masonic Lodge of Maryland and Silver Spring Lodge #215 having attained the degree of Master Mason, and he is a member of the Scottish Rite having attained the 32nd degree.
